Hardscaping - Add Character to your Outdoor Living Spaces

Hardscaping

Outdoor hardscaping, including pavers, retaining walls, walkways, driveways, patios, decks, and the like, are what gives a sense of stability, character, and strength to your outdoor landscape. Combined with softscapes, these amenities give not only aesthetic boost and practical benefits, but also make your outdoor area safer and more fun to be in. Outdoor hardscapes likewise increase your property’s market value, as well as serve environmental benefits (like in the case of retaining walls that prevent soil erosion). With all these wonderful aesthetic, utilitarian, and environmental benefits, it is thus no small wonder why more and more property owners are spending huge money on them.

Pavers

Pavers have long been in wide use in residential, commercial, and recreational applications. This is primarily due to their flexibility, beauty, and ease of maintenance and installation. They are used mostly for pathways, driveways, and as integral parts of pools, patios, and similar outdoor hardscapes. Meanwhile, the common paver types include permeable and interlocking pavers, both of which offer wonderful aesthetic and practical uses. For its part, permeable paver reduces water runoff since it is basically porous. It is mostly used in light-traffic areas like residential driveways, parking lots and sidewalks. Interlocking paver (or segmental paver), on the other hand, is used in high traffic areas like city and state roads and commercial driveways since it is characteristically strong and requires minimal maintenance.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are some of the best outdoor hardscapes out there. It is primarily because they offer a host of benefits that are too good not to enjoy. A specific example would be segmental retaining walls. These hardscapes are used to hold back unsteady soil or slope that may erode or cave in. They come in various sizes, shapes, textures, and designs so personalization will never be an issue. Aside from preventing soil from eroding, they can also be installed to put barren, unused spaces to use, such as in driveways, walkways, and patio areas.

Patios & Decks

Patios & decks can easily add a dash of elegance and functionality to any outdoor space. With the use of concrete pavers and natural stones, an outdoor area will instantly look rustic, earthy, elegant, or vibrant, depending on the type of natural stone paver used. These materials are among the top choices of both property owners and landscaping contractors for their elegance, durability, and ease of installation and maintenance. As it is, patios & decks not only make an outdoor attractive, but also create spaces where homeowners can hold special or daily activities like family dinner, birthdays, reunions, and the like.
