RENOVATORS in Queensland are moving outdoor spaces to the top of their to-do lists, a survey of visitors at The Courier-Mail Home Show has revealed.
The iData Group research showed that 54.4 per cent of home show visitors planned to renovate an outdoor space in the next 12 months, while 46.6 per cent were renovating a kitchen and 45.5 per cent updating a bathroom.

Master Builders Queensland executive director Paul Bidwell said builders had reported a similar outdoor shift in a 2013 builders survey.
“Outdoor living featured prominently above design and the standard of fixtures and fittings,” Mr Bidwell said.
Wavell Heights resident Ron Hill recently had a resort-style pavilion built in the back yard of his 1940s double brick-and-stucco home.
The $147,000 structure by Brisbane’s Concepts Unlimited features an outdoor kitchen, open and covered decks, shower and toilet, seating for 12, and a flat-screen TV.
“We wanted an area where we could live in true Queensland style,” Mr Hill said.
See Concepts Unlimited at The Courier-Mail Home Show, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, from today until Sunday.
