Grilling Accessory Invented for Automatic Shutdown - Designed by InventHelp Clients (MIS-121)

While there are a variety of accessories currently available for propane grills, none of them help the cook remember to go back and turn the grill off after the grease and residue have burned away. Thanks to an inventor from New Richmond, Wis., however, the user can now arrange in advance to have the grill turn itself off at a later time.

They developed patent-pending TIMR’S GAS TIMER specifically to provide for automatic shutoff of a propane gas grill. As such, it eliminates the need to make an extra trip to manually turn off a grill. It, therefore, saves time and effort when grilling. Furthermore, it prevents excessive wear on grill components. At the same time, it avoids wasting fuel from leaving the grill on after the cooking residue has been burned off. Besides that, it helps prevent fires or explosions associated with grills being left on and unattended. Also, it is suitable for use on other outdoor appliances that use propane gas, including lanterns, stoves and heaters. In addition, it is convenient, easy to operate and affordably priced.

The inventors’ personal experience inspired the idea. “I got this idea while I was cooking on the grill. I thought that anyone who grills probably would like to eliminate that extra trip back to the grill to turn it off when the cooking residue has been burned off,” one of them said.

The original design was submitted to the Minneapolis office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
